A couple of people have asked me about my schedule for this summer, so I thought I might post it here for everyone to see. Do drop me a message if you happen to be anywhere at the same time as I am and maybe we can meet up!

16th June – 22nd June: Hill walking in Scotland, around Glen Coe to be precise, with the Durham Uni Hill Walking Society.

27th June – 7th July: Flying to Munich and renting a car with my Finnish mate Pekka (you might have seen the photos from last summer’s road trip in Australia, also with Pekka). After that the plan is to cover whatever we can of the Alps, hopefully a few days of hiking as well. We’ll probably go to Northern Italy and perhaps to France, then back up to Switzerland and finally to Munich.

12th July – 20th July: I’ll start this trip with the British Society for the Philosophy of Science Annual Conference, University of East Anglia, Norwich. I’ll give a paper entitled ‘The A Priori and Scientific Knowledge’. On the 14th I will take the train to Brighton where I will spend two nights. The purpose of this is just to check out the place as I’ve wanted to see Brighton for a while. Then on the 16th I will be heading to Winchester for Glade festival, which I’m really looking forward to. Back to Durham on the 20th after the festival.

30th July – 15th August: I’ll be in Finland between these dates, seeing friends and family. So give me a call on my Finnish mobile if you’re around then! My mum will come back with me to Durham for five days after this.

1st September – 6th September: I will be in Geneva at the Société de Philosophie Analytique (SOPHA) 2009 Conference, Université de Genève, where I will give a paper entitled ‘Two-Dimensional Modal Semantics, Conceivability, and Modal Epistemology’. An early version of the paper is available here.

Between the above dates I will most likely be at home in Durham, or somewhere nearby. It is likely that September will see a couple more conferences and there are a few other potential trips that I have in mind, but this should give you an idea about where I’ll be.

In other news, a couple of my forthcoming papers have now been published, namely Against the Vagueness Argument (Philosophia) and The Law of Non-Contradiction as a Metaphysical Principle (Australasian Journal of Logic). The latter is freely available at the Journal’s website, and I’ve got 50 offprints of the first which I’ll be happy to distribute to anyone who might be interested, although you can of course just download the paper as well.
