As promised, the photos from my recent road trip around the Alps with my Finnish mate Pekka are now online, they can be found here. The trip started and ended at Munich and proceeded via Kehlsteinhaus, Salzburg, Klagenfurt, Ljubljana, Padua, Venice, Rimini, San Marino, Bologna, Florence, San Gimignano, Pisa, Genova, Monaco, Nice, Tende, Gran Paradiso Nature Reserve, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Zermatt, Chur, Liechtenstein, Zürich, Rheinfall and Freiburg. The highlight for me was certainly our two days of hiking at the Gran Paradiso Nature Reserve in Northern Italy. We climbed to 3200 meters and I got some amazing photos. I’m keen to go hiking around the Alps for a longer period as soon as possible. Of course, Venice and Florence were beautiful as well, but it was quite enjoyable to stay in less touristy places too, such as Padua, Bologna and Genova. Other than that, I trust that the photos will give an idea of the trip.

Another update concerning my online papers: I have added a paper entitled ‘On the Epistemic Status of Euclidean Geometry’ and more recent versions of my papers ‘Against Conventionalism: Boundaries and Realism’ and ‘Two-Dimensional Modal Semantics, Conceivability, and Modal Epistemology’.

Just a couple of highlights from the road trip:

I’m currently stopping in Durham before heading to Finland, as indicated in the previous post. Since that post, I’ve confirmed two more conference appearances for September: I will present a paper entitled ‘Natural Boundaries and Metaphysical Realism’ at the Metaphysics of Science Conference in Nottingham, and a version of my metametaphysics paper, ‘Metaphysics Is Not About Existence Questions’ at the The fourth meeting of the Portuguese Society for Analytic Philosophy in Évora, Portugal.

In other news, I survived my road trip around the Alps and Northern Italy. It was quite amazing, and photos will follow shortly. I’ve also been to the British Society for the Philosophy of Science conference in Norwich, which was good – a report with some photos will follow very soon. On the same trip I also popped down to Brighton for two nights and went to the Glade festival in Winchester after that.

I’ve also been going through photos from last Spring and early Summer, my Gallery has been updated. In addition I have reorganised the albums for The English Lake District, Other UK Hills, Durham and The North East, and Hill Walks in Scotland. These are now divided into subalbums and should be a little easier to navigate. New photos include some shots from a walk in Caldbeck, from a stroll around Tynemouth, and from a beach walk near Alnmouth. There are also photos from the week away in Scotland with the hill walking society, although not many as the weather wasn’t great. These are divided into shots from Glencoe and Crianlarich.

Here are some highlights from the mentioned galleries:
